Privacy Policy

What Midrib collects, why, and who it's shared with.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email and password (stored in a form we can't read back).
  • What you tell us at sign-up: your birthdate, address, and what you're using Midrib for.
  • Your work: project names and goals, drafts, notes, comments, uploaded files, links and reference libraries.
  • Your own API key, if you add one. After you save it, it's never shown again, only its last four characters.
  • Messages you send us through Contact us.
  • Your name and email, if you join the waitlist.
  • Settings kept in your browser, such as your theme and view choices.

Why we use it

  • To run the service: build your graphs, check citations, give feedback and writing help
  • To keep your account secure
  • To answer your messages
  • To tailor suggestions to what you told us you're using Midrib for

Who it's shared with

  • AI model providers, to run writing help: Midrib's default model provider on Pro, or the provider of your own key.
  • Research databases, with your search terms, to find papers.
  • Service providers that host and run Midrib for us, under contract. [List to be set.]

We don't sell your personal information. [Confirm, and add any other uses, before publishing.]

Children

Midrib isn't for anyone under 13. Sign-up asks for your birthdate to check this.
